The Teaching & Learning Center is an Office of Instruction department. In addition to providing technology training and support for faculty and staff, the Teaching & Learning Center coordinates the Distance Education Program, and the Flexible Calendar.

Online Education Initiative The Online Education Initiative (OEI) provides technology solutions to improve student success in distance education courses.

Online course — An online course will be dsignated as Online in published campus materials and defined as 51% or more online student contact hours.

Hybrid course — A hybrid course will be designated as Hybrid in published campus materials and defined as 50% or less online student contact hours.

Web-enhanced course — A web-enhanced course is not considered to be an online course, but uses online activities to complement class sessions without reducing the number of required class meetings.

Expanded definitions of "Online" and "Hybrid" can be found on page 2 of the Faculty Handbook, under the heading for Two Modes of Distance Education.

 

Instructional Technology Resources

If you need assistance learning about your computer, an application, creating web pages, class handouts, putting a course online or creating presentations for your classes; then you've come to the right place! One-on-one assistance is available Monday through Friday at the TLC. Call or drop by. We are located in room 1095, which is behind the Robert E. Swenson Library, and downstairs from the Math Learning Center (MLC) and the Tutoring Center (HUB).
